City beat Asia's best in Club World Cup final

Manchester City, who won the treble last season, are not in a good mood in the league this season. Pep Guardiola's side have won just one of their last five matches in the Premier League. Because of this, he has to be pierced by the sharp arrows of criticism. However, the chance to win another title this season is in front of Manchester City. The Citizens got the expected win in the semi-final of the Club World Cup.

Manchester City beat Asian champions Urawa Reds 3-0 at King Abdullah Sports City on Tuesday (December 19). Mateo Kovacic and Bernardo Silva scored goals for City without Arling Holland. The other goal was an own goal by Marius Hoiberten.

The Citizens will take on Fluminense in the final on Friday (December 22) night.

City played without Holland and Julian Alvarez against the Asian champions. However, they did not have to face many problems. Guardiola's men were in control of the match.

City scored in the 30th minute of the match. Nishikawa, the goalkeeper of the Japanese team, blocked the shot of Matthias Nunes. However, Hoiberten's own goal in the first minute of first-half added time gave City the lead. This defender of Urawa stuck the ball in his own net while preventing the cross made by Nunes.

City maintained rhythm in the second half. Kovačić scored in the 52nd minute to double the lead. Kyle Walker made a great pass from the defense in their own half. The Croatian midfielder controlled the pass and finished coolly.

Nunes missed the opportunity in 56 minutes. Grealish's cross headed from the left side, but the Portuguese could not keep it on target.

City scored again two minutes later. Nunes took a long-range shot from the left edge, beating two descenders. But Nishikawa blocked the shot. Bernardo Silva takes the shot after receiving the return ball. His shot deflected off the leg of a Urawa defender and into the net.

In the 65th minute, Urawa got a chance to score due to a misunderstanding between Walker and Ederson. Walker backpassed Ederson but Urawa's Brian Linsen got the ball. But he wasted the opportunity by passing to his teammate without taking the shot. In the 69th minute, City's Oscar Bob's powerful shot narrowly missed the target.
